Summer Cup 2026 - Week 10 Results & Tables (plus points amendment announcement)

Due to a team dropping out with only a couple of days to spare before the Summer Cup started, it meant that the setup for determining which teams progress to which position in the knockout stages were disrupted.

It meant Group B teams were going to play 2 fewer matches in the round robin meaning their points potential was impacted. The knockout stages are based on the best position across all 3 groups so this has to be managed.

The only practical way to remedy this in the fairest way possible was adding their average points per match for the two missing fixtures, therefore giving them the best calculation of the prospective points they'd receive in the round robin if they were able to play the same number of matches as the teams in Groups A + C.

It's not perfect, but considering the timeframe, it was the best option on the table without delaying the start of the Cup, cancelling all ready-made fixtures and creating another few hours of admin.

Once the postponed match has been complete, the next table will account for this amendment.

ONLINE EVALUATION

Using a Points Per Game (PPG) projection—or adding average points accrued to simulate missed fixtures—is a standard, widely accepted approach when fixture imbalances occur due to late withdrawals. It provides a fair baseline for cross-group seeding without forcing a last-minute schedule overhaul.

Fairness: It evaluates teams based on their rate of success rather than total volume, ensuring teams aren't penalised for playing fewer matches.

Pragmatism: Re-drafting the entire tournament schedule with days to spare creates unnecessary chaos for teams, refs, and organisers.
